Night and Low Light Photography Workshop – 6 Hours mentoring
There is that special time of the day when daylight turns into dusk and then melts into darkness. And it’s on every day!
Come and enjoy the creative opportunities that these few hours bring to us, photographers. We’ll explore the challenge that a dazzling sunset or gradually diminishing light means.
We’ll test the limits of our cameras (ISO) as the fragile balance balance between natural daylight and artificial light sources tilts from one end of the scale to the other.
This four-hour intensive workshop is balanced between day and night and usually starts about an hour before sunset.
After a short theoretical introduction we’ll focus on taking pictures against the sky, creating beautiful silhouettes.
We’ll use flashes to provide fill light and to modify the dynamic range of our scenes. We’ll experiment with long exposures and even looonger shutter speeds. And we’ll have fun using light sources to “paint with light” and create illumination in the dark.
This course is open both to beginners and to more advanced photographers. Pack all the mobile light sources you find in your home: flashlights, LED light, bike lamps, etc.
What to bring and camera suitability:
All DSLR and mirrorless compact systems are suitable as long as they allow full manual control by selecting M on mode dial or through the camera menu. As long as you are able to control the aperture, shutter speeds and ISO, you will enjoy this course!
All the technical aspects of photography we will be talking about and the practical exercises will be relevant.
